Our experience

Over the years we have travelled extensively in Australia and overseas. We like to spend time “living” in different communities and we have found pet/house sitting to be a wonderful way to do this.

When we retired mid 2019 we planned to pet/house sit in Australia for 6 months followed by a long overseas trip, which included some pet sitting assignments in the UK and we rented our North Sydney apartment for two years. Covid cancelled our overseas trip so we continued pet sitting. Over the two-year period we had 18 pet sitting assignments in Qld, NSW, Vic and SA. Our assignments typically included dogs and cats, young and old, active and lazy, healthy and ailing plus one blind dog. There were also a smattering of chickens, rabbits, birds and fish. A couple of assignments were rescue dogs which were often nervous around men but were comfortable with Robert after a couple of days. Since our return to Sydney in 2021, we have undertaken assignments primarily in places where we want to spend some time.

We are in our late 70s, both fit and healthy, have had all our Covid vaccinations and boosters and are non-smokers. We are security conscious and have Police Clearances. We have our own transport and are not travelling with pets or a caravan.

We have included our first pet/house sitting reference from 2019 and for the last 2 assignments we had. We believe they will confirm we provide pets with love and care and are respectful of other people’s property and privacy.

We find it is best to initially have a chat to see if we fit what you are looking for to take care of your pets and home.

Rob & Denise were the perfect housesitters. From first contact right thru to when I returned from my 3 week holiday they were excellent. We received regular updates on our 2 dogs which was our main concern and they looked after them as they were their own. The house was kept clean and tidy as well.
I wouldn't hesitate in using them again as for us they were exactly what we were looking for. 10 out of 10

Denise and Robert were wonderful house and pet sitters. From the very beginning they were friendly and open. Archie my 2 year old dog fell in love with them instantly. My apartment was in perfect shape when I arrived home and Archie was a very happy boy. I hope they will come again to stay the next time I go away.
