More information about this house sitter**Please note: we are not available until after 17th July 2020**
Three years ago we leased out our motel on the VIC/NSW border. Although we also have a unit in Yamba ( Northern NSW) we're not sure that we want to one day call either place "home", so we've been combining relief motel management, caravanning & house sitting since then. We are from a rural environment and have no pets of our own that we travel with.
We will be available again for any short or medium term house sitting positions from 17th July 2020. We would prefer Southern Queensland since we will be finishing a job at Currimundi on July 16th, but will consider all offers.
We enjoy the breaks from our caravan as much as we enjoy the travelling and the lifestyle that we have chosen for ourselves. We are not desperate to find house sitting positions. Whether we stay in our van or do a few house sits is neither here nor there.
We only apply for or accept positions that we think that we can handle as the property owners would expect from us. We are not just doing it to get a bit of free accomodation. If we think we would not enjoy a job then we will politely decline. After all, it's a two-way deal & everyone needs to be happy - you and us!
All that said though, if we can help someone out by house sitting and minding their much loved gardens, pets etc, whilst at the same time getting out of the confines of our van & staying put in one place for an extended time, then that's a feel-good bonus for us. Ironically, we prefer to be off the roads in busy times like school holidays, which is exactly when many people need sitters, so usually it's a win-win all 'round.
We're happy to provide phone numbers of people that we have sat for previously or simply just have a chat. Generally we have found that a few telephone chats can usually help determine whether both parties are going to feel comfortable with each other. We look forward to hearing from interested home/pet owners
