Greetings!

I have taken time off from full time employment to finish a writing project (novel). Its a flexible commitment that has become a project in its own right. Some time ago this led me to look at house-sitting and in particular pet-sitting as an option as I used to house-sit/pet-sit for my friends whilst they were on holiday, while I can also making the most of inspirational scenery from different house sits for my novel. I have been a pet admirer since I had my first dog at the age of three so I have well over three decades of experience in handling or minding pets (including my friends' furry friends).

My longest house sit has been 9 months with the shortest being around 3-4 days.

I spent many years in various employment disciplines including policing (Military Police), security operations (military and civil), risk management (corporate), training and cyber security (corporate consulting).

When I joined the military I was employed in the police dog squad so I am extensively familiar with dogs, not just as pets but also in a professional working capacity (including vet requirements and behaviour development). I formed a close partnership with a working dog for 6 years before I discharged. I am a qualified dog trainer so if you need free advice on dog behaviour and some simple tricks of the trade, I may be able to assist you or at least give you some pointers to consider.

Other animals I am familiar with includes cats, birds, horses and fish.

I am single, still have an endless supply of humour, have no pets of my own currently, nor a caravan to block the views. I am a non-smoker. I am also happy to provide gardening and property maintenance if any is required.

Additionally, with a focus on house security these days, it's worth mentioning I have plenty of experience in securing people and facilities as I was responsible for these functions in the workplace over many years.
