We are a retired couple who don't want to settle down yet. Due to health issues in late 2011 (which are long resolved) we decided to sell up and downsize and travel. For more than 12 month we spend time in the USA ,Europe and Asia. After returning we decided to put our apartment up for rental and try house and pet sitting. We have been house and pet sitting since October 2013 full time .We have enjoed every minute of it and will be doing this for some time yet . I have a zoology background and my entire working life has centered around working with animals,both wild and domesticated species. I am competend in all areas of animal husbandry care including administering medication .Even in my private time pets like dog ,cats, birds and otheres were alwise there.Our hobbies are of course traveling, nature photography ,reading, bush walking, fishing and gardening.If time permits on longer house sitting jobs we love to grow vegetables, making sure that they are ready when the house owners come back.We also have no problems in doing general garden and property maintenance if required also swimming pool maintenance is no problem. My wife has had many years experience in maintaining and running households in a professional capacity.As for our personal life we would like to state that we are absolutely no party people,we dont smoke nor drink beond the occasional glas of wine.We however dont concider ourselfs booring people. We enjoy each others company and see ourselfs as clean living and house proud, reliable and caring house and pet sitters . During house sitting assignments we communicate with the owners on a regular basis via e mail , phone or skype so that the owners are keept up to date .We are aware of our responcibilities in that roll and provide exelent references from previous hosts. Prior to being choosen for a sitting we like to meet with the owners and pets (depending on our location at the time) to brake the ice and to talk in more details about the hosts expectations .
