Hi!

I'm Tanya. I'm a mature, responsible and quiet living, disability arts worker and casual cleaner. I work part-time from home. My partner Justin - a counsellor and writer - joins me on the weekend.

We're healthy, low impact, responsible and communicative. We offer a weekly email with photos, updates and a general bit of reassurance - with no obligation for you to reply if you are out enjoying the world!

I've been house-sitting full-time since October 2015 and have cared for roughly 16 homes in that time - on large country acreages, suburban family households and inner city units. I love gardening and spending time in the yard - so leave me a list of tasks if you like!

I've always been security conscious and regard your property's security and care with the highest sense of diligence. If I have any doubts about something, I'll inquire or if necessary, contact you.

I grew up on a rural acreage and have cared for dogs, cats, horses, chickens, fish, birds, you name it! Am very open to specific instructions regarding your pet and property care. Don't be shy - let me know what your pet and home-related preferences are!

I'm also a Melbourne local. So if I for example, got sick (I rarely do), I have a strong community in Victoria who could come and support me. In other words, you won't be stuck in any case of emergency. We once had to evacuate from a house sit (due to a bushfire) so I took the dog with me to a friend's home until the threat receded, one week later. I'm flexible and responsible and won't leave you in the lurch. I say this because I've had quite a few house owners express that they had had last minute cancellations. Once I agree, I follow through.

I do a bit of writing at home so I love a quiet environment.

Tan - without doubt - has been the best house sitter I've ever employed the services of.
My cat - not a lover of most humans - absolutely took to her presence in the home.
Tan is quiet, peaceful, mature and very caring. I see why pets adore her. Her partner is equally responsible, kind and caring. I was nervous at first to leave my home but felt very comfortable upon departing for my trip.
Tan was absolutely fantastic with the neighbours, maintaining harmonious and friendly relationships. Neighbours on both sides said they were sad to see her go. So I'm not sure what this says about me!
Best of all, Tan was incredibly caring of the home, taking meticulous care of my personal items and performing general maintenance checks. She even washed my car before I came home.
My home and property received a makeover (lawns, garden tidy and thriving, pathways swept).
Tan's lifestyle - working home several days a week and social activity limited to outside of the home made me feel relaxed security wise.
If you have any questions away on your trip, Tan will answer your calls or email. She sent a weekly email with photos and general updates re mail, phone calls and general maintenance issues. She even arranged with contractors (that I'd hired) to come and do work on the place whilst I was gone.
Pretty much, you cannot go wrong with Tan.

Tanya and Justin were wonderful sitters. We left our beloved spoodle, Normie with them for 4 months while we traveled in Europe this year. The confidence we had placed in them was very well justified... Normie was very well cared for...our neighbours vouched for that too. We received emails from Tanya and photos of our little fella.. They are a delightful couple and our house was well cared for also. We will certainly ask them again to house/dog sit for us in the future.

Tan & Justin took great care of our furr-babies & it was a great relief knowing they were in place whilst we were overseas for a month. It helped me enjoy my holiday much more getting communication from Tan to say the cats & bunny were happy & settled. Tan also did a great job of keeping the garden happy during a mega-hot month & we came home to a clean home with a very welcoming atmosphere. We also had some employees here on Mondays for our business & had set up an arrangement whereby they'd be independent of the house & Tan as I didn't want her space invaded - but Tanya was very kind & welcoming to them. I couldn't recommend Tan & Justin highly enough to anyone interested in a calm & friendly, trusted house sitter or two.
