I am a writer who loves pets, especially dogs and chooks. I was a university lecturer in creative writing but now work from home on a variety of writing projects. My partner has been working as a pool lifeguard but has re-qualified to work in a laboratory. He also enjoys dogs and other animals. We sometimes want to bring our 10-year old daughter housesitting (especially on school holidays). She enjoys reading, drawing, computer games, walking, animals and the beach and nature. We take care of any where we stay, the animals are top priority, and we leave any place we stay clean. We love to go to different areas of Victoria and explore (especially the beach, but other areas too).

We have a very friendly two year old long-haired dachshund who likes all humans and dogs of all sizes and breeds. He is house trained, desexed and enjoys sleeping in his crate overnight. He needs at least a 1 hour walk a day, so depending on your dog’s needs, we are used to lots of walking! He doesn’t like to be left alone so we are also used to being there and incorporating dogs into our lives (we take him to dog friendly cafes, and can do the same for your dog/s, if you like). Usually we will want to bring him with us when housesitting. Because he tends to bark at local cats who come into our backyard, we wouldn’t want to bring him into contact with a cat, as we’re not confident about how he’d get along. With older or disinterested dogs, he gets the hint and doesn’t continually bother them. We love giving attention to animals (as long as they like it!). Read more...
