UPDATE - Both fully vaccinated and now retired, we have completed over 60 house sits all over the world through trustedhousesitters and mindahome.
We are Alistair and Sharon, a semi retired, non-smoking couple, originally from the UK where Sharon worked for IBM and I was an operational fire officer. We emigrated to Queensland, Australia in 2002 and have been resident there for the previous 22 years. We have two son, James 29 and William 28.
On arrival in Australia, we established our own business which we operated for 4 years. We gained permanent residency in 2006 and citizenship in 2007. After this we sold the business and our career paths diverged, Sharon becoming a teacher, whilst I joined Queensland Police Service.
In 2016 we decided to start travelling. We spent a year in South East Asia, predominately in Thailand but also in Cambodia and Laos. Whilst there we both taught English as a second language, having completed a TEFL course in Koh Samui.
Since March 2017 we have been teaching online and travelling through Europe, taking in Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Portugal, Hungary, Italy, Croatia and Bulgaria. We have also house sat in America, England, Australia, Vietnam and Thailand since then.
We are both still active and maintain good levels of fitness enjoying cycling, walking, swimming, pickleball and tennis amongst a number of sports. Read more...
