Hi my name's Lara,

I have an interest in houses and gardens and am no stranger to a bit of maintenance, lawn mowing, cleaning etc. As a qualified florist, I also love creating and designing beautiful arrangements and living in a beautiful clean home.

I have a car, I also have a 5 year old nature-loving boy whose gentle with animals (and plants).

I have looked after dogs and love it! I also have one cat of my own, but make arrangements to leave her with a housesitter when we travel.

We enjoy looking after pets, and walking dogs, keeping the house nice and clean. I would be in the house a fair bit during the daytime and every evening, so you can rest assured that your little furry friend/bird/rabbit would get plenty of loving attention! ...

“This housesitting experience with Lara was very stressful, as we have always done a walk-through handover with the housesitter before we leave, so they can question anything they are unsure of before we leave. Unfortunately, Lara failed to arrive at the prearranged time even though we delayed our leaving. This meant lots of difficult messages and then phone call while we were traveling, for advice on things Also quite sometime after acceptance of housesitting by both, Lara asked me to supply photos of the inside of the house questioning how clean my house was and whether there was any mould present, citing her son's asthma. We performed a very thorough clean to accommodate this, including washing walls, rewashing the bed linen (even though it was clean) and sun aired pillows and under blankets. Unfortunately, the house wasn't left in the same state that we had left it in. ”

Okay…. This is not an accurate or fair review. I spent a good 2 days prior to leaving by vaccumming mopping, cleaning the bathroom, put all bedding, towels in the wash &dryer. Rubbish bins out, gardens regularly watered kitchen thoroughly cleaned. This is the 1st I’ve heard about Joanne washing sheets prior…wouldn’t fresh sheets be a given?? I communicated that we wouldn’t arrive exactly when they requested (2 hours later) as we’re travelling up from Melbourne. Joanne had constant demands and often were spelt out in capital letters (from the get-go) Her husband on the contrary was pleasant to deal with. Due to the capital letters and refusal of photos I felt nervous. The house was hoarded with old antiques, very dark - unpleasant to stay in. Cat peed on floor daily although we provided fresh food water and clean litter…

“We had Lara recently stay at our house to look after our two precious labrodoodles for two weeks whilst on holidays. This was the first time we had used Mindahome, as we didnt want to send the dogs to the kennel for such a long time. Lara was excellent! Neat, tidy, communicated extremely well, and walked our pooches every day. We were very happy with how she look after our place and animals and would be very happy to recommend her to anyone!”

“Hi there, We had Lara & Rob stay with us for 9 nights over the 2019 Easter break and for us it was a very positive experience. Prior to the house sitting Lara & Rob came to our house to meet so I could take them through the house, meet our dogs and answer any questions they had. As we are pretty new to house sitting I thought it was a good idea to meet first, I straight away felt at ease with Lara and Rob and they made me feel like they were very genuine people who would take care of our home and pets. When Lara and Rob arrived to our house they straight away took a photo of Lara with Elmo and Zoe (our dogs), I felt this was really great as it helps us to relax and know our dogs are being cared for and make our children feel at ease that someone is in the house looking after them. Lara continued to send up photos of Elmo and Zoe throughout their stay, which for our family we loved. When we arrived home our house was clean and tidy, sheets was washed and hanging outside and most importantly we could clearly tell our dogs were loved while we were away. As a very nice touch the patio door lock which was broken (we just never go around to fixing) had been replaced and the kids bathroom drain which was blocked (my kids stuffed some straw down there) was cleared. I really did not expect this and really appreciated this touch, when they really didn't need to. Our family would jump at the chance of having Lara stay at our home again and hope that the next time we are away this would be the case.
