I'm a little different from most potential house sitters because (apart from loving to be around your pets ), I' have been home and pet sitting for over a year. This way I am writing three non fiction books - My publisher says I maybe a best-selling author:)

Also, I take my house sitting very seriously. I have a professional house sitting certificate to ensure I can give you and your loving pets the best.

What Was I Doing Before Home and Pet Sitting?
I was an international library consultant, then a small business owner and an adult educational trainer and coach for over 15 years.

I am now retired and living my dream to be a non-fiction author. I often write for 4 hours a day and then stay in your home most of the time - so your babies - will benefit from plenty of attention.

I am a quiet person with a healthy lifestyle, and love walking.

Our family has had dogs, cats, birds and fish for many years and I'm comfortable with small or medium size dogs (young and old), dealing with poorly pets (rescue and one had cancer), chickens, earthworms, cats, and budgies.

Something else you may like to know about me regarding local communities is I enjoy volunteer work in community gardens and bush regeneration projects. I've also volunteered with my daughter at the Buddhist Boarding School, Kathmandu, Nepal, and at One Door, Sydney where I currently help out mentally challenged adults learn new skills. (Sadly closed now for awhile.)

Why do I House Sit and Care for your Pets?
Love animals: I love animals and have found that pets love me too:) One Staffy rescue dog was so comfortable, he merely opened one eye to see his owner back after 4 weeks overseas and promptly went back to sleep! And sometimes I'm known to bake eco cookie treats for the dogs - if they are allowed!

Travel: I've traveled the world as a library consultant and just loved working in different locations, meeting new people and being involved in their local communities.

Time to write: House sitting gives me a greater degree of freedom to write my books while helping others by being their temporary pet lover and guardian.

What Do I Bring To Your House Sit?
I have plenty of relevant experience with pets and an understanding of natural and herbal remedies if needed for some minor health concerns eg. Rescue Remedy or Herb Robert.
I can send you regular updates (if you like) with images of your pets for your peace of mind. We can Skype too with you if it provides more reassurance. I have out the pets don't care for Skype!

Also I've had a few unusual experiences and emergencies to handle which I've dealt with calmly and professionally. For example, I cared for an Italian Bloodhound with cancer. I gave his medications regularly, cooked organic beef sausages when he would not eat his dog food, and even fed him breakfast in bed by hand when he was too tired to get up.

I truly understand that every home and pet sit is unique with special requirements - and we can cover all of this in our formal or informal agreement before you leave .

I have house sat in many different houses:
two bedroom unit near the sea (twice)
two bedroom home in a lovely retirement resort with a rescue dog (asked twice more but booked)
90 acre property with 3 dogs, 12 chickens and a budgie,
suburban home with an indoor poodle (thrice,)
30 acre property with two indoor show dogs,
beautiful 4 bedroom home by the sea with an amazing tabby, 3,000 acre farm for a week with a dog and six children, 2,000 acre sheep farm with two outdoor kelpie sheep dogs.
