More information about this house sitter

My name is Doita but my friends often call me Dora (after Dora the Explorer). I am 26 years old non smoker, and when not exploring I am working as a research assistant for which I moved from Perth.

When not at work, you can usually find me reading, playing piano, or sailing as volunteer crew.

My primary hometown is Perth (Australia) and my side hometowns are Caracas (Venezuela), Kolkata (India), Viveiro (Spain) and Pittsburgh (USA). (Hence the nickname). I am currently in Tasmania (mainly Hobart).

I absolutely love pets, and have plenty of experience with cats, dogs, rabbits, chooks, and guinea pigs.

I am a very tidy and respectful person and good with gardening and plants, as I grew up with a large garden that grew various herbs (bay leaf, coriander), fruits (lemon, mango) and vegetables (winter melon, squash). In addition I used to work for DAFWA (Department of Agriculture and Food in Western Australia) which gave me a pretty good basic knowledge of gardening.

For those who I housesit for, if you have the time I would love to cook you a meal before or after your journey so we can get to know each other a bit better. Ive met many lovely people from all walks of life, and consider myself lucky for having done so. I also find that it gives house sitters peace of mind about entrusting their home & beloved home and pets to a stranger.

I do not charge for housesitting, have a police clearance, working with children's check, and a senior first aid certificate. In addition to this I can provide a bond and many references - personal, professional, or specifically for house sitting.

I am saving up for my own slice of heaven, and being financially prudent I find house sitting a fantastic way to save money whilst being able to offer others peace of mind for no cost, and care for their animals - who I absolutely adore.

I also intend on owning both a cat and dog when I eventually settle down, and would like to think I could find a responsible house sitter when I go out for a holiday and so would like to set an example in that regard.

Working mainly from home means that I will be home much more often than others and can respond quickly if there is any house/pet related emergency. It also means that if pets have any particular routine - such as being medicated, or being fed or walked at certain times I can easily change my schedule to suit this. I like to keep as close as possible to whatever routine owners might have had with their pets.

Simply, I can be trusted to take care of your pets and house whilst you are away with you not having to worry whilst you are away on holiday (where you shouldnt have to worry at all), or for a work conference (where you have enough to worry about!) about these things.
