Hi, we are a married RETIRED couple travelling around Australia.
Pat's experience: Nurse, Real Estate Agent, Retail management, hospitality,
Worked on Dunk Island 2 years as a housekeeper, bar attendant, reception.
Green Island, 4 & 1/2 years as Retail manager, Merchandiser, liasion officer, then went back to Real Estate for 13 years until l retired.
Russell: From a farming background, worked in the Public Service for 18 years in various government departments. Hortoculturist, Pool Maintenance Manager, tour guide
On Dunk Island, 2 years as a gardener and pool maintenance manager
Green Island 4 &1/2 years as Head Gardener, pool maintenance manager and relief maintenance. Then Rydges Resort Cairns for 12 years as Gardener and pool maintenance manager also Resort Maintenance until RETIRED.
We started travelling in 2017 to 2018, we returned home to Cairns, but couldn't settle down so decided to sell up and continue our travels.
We were told about Mindahome in 2019 and since then we have had several house, farm & pet sitting positions around the country. We love gardening and all animals.
We spent 2.5 years on a 150 acre farm inc, animal sitting, cattle, chooks, dogs, maintaining and looking after various fruit trees and vege gardens, which we improved. In WA. We were there from October 2019 to End of March 2022. We have looked after a friends 5 acre property in Margaret River care taking the gardens, home and vege, fruit trees, for several weeks.
We had our own fur baby who travelled with us, but sadly she passed away with bladder cancer in 2020. We now have a new fur baby Bonnie a very sweet quiet well behaved Papillon.
Since then we have had many house & pet sitting engagements from WA, VICTORIA, NSW, QLD & FNQ
Both long and short terms.
It is such a joy to us meeting new people & animals and making friends.
We are very reliable, honest and pride ourselves in looking after people's homes as if they were our own.
We are very concious of the needs of others and also try our best to look after the environment.
Some of our sitting positions included having to give medications to animals and doing specific jobs for different places, this, to us is an important part of our responsibilities as house and pet sitters.
