More information about this house sitter

Introducing Kim and Faye. We are a recently retired couple (in our early 60's) who have rented our home on acreage in Sydney and are now roaming the world for a few years. We look for a "home away from home" when staying in an area for more than a few days. We have spent the last 2 years overseas (US (skiing), UK, South America and Antarctica) and are now back in Australia to see our families and a bit more of our own country before heading off again.

We were successful management consultants in our careers, who travelled extensively for work and got the travel bug. We like to live like the locals, not tourists, whenever possible.

We are also landlords with a number of rental properties in Australia so understand the importance of respecting and maintaining property. We are very practical people and are used to making things work and getting things done. We have built our last 3 houses and are in the process of renovating one of our investment properties. Before travelling we spent 3 months landscaping our multi-acre garden to make it easy for tenants to maintain.

The downside to travel is that we have had to give up our garden and our pets, which we miss terribly and so we are looking for opportunities to share and look after other people’s gardens and pets. We are used to cats, dogs, reptiles, birds, fish and chooks. Kim was brought up in the country around horses, sheep, cattle, and pigs, although he is a little rusty.
