Hello! We are an active, retired couple from Canada who spend three months a year in Australia. We are very experienced, responsible, and reliable people who would treat your home as gently as if it were our own. We are fully vaccinated non smokers, with police clearance, clean driving records and over 20 Five Star Reviews!
We love animals! Currently, we have a little rescue cat of our own, Cocoa and have had several lovely sits with cats! We used to raise and show West Highland White Terrier Dogs. We have enjoyed sits with many large dogs :(Labradoodle, Newfoundlander, Bernese Mountain, Boxer, English Setter, German Short Haired Pointer, Poodle, Golden Retrievers, Labrador, Rhodesian Ridgeback.) Smaller dogs we have cared for include Beagle, Cocker Spaniel, Fox Terrier, Poodle, and Westies! Then there are the many, sweet, rescue dogs of mixed breeds we have cared for, who have stolen our hearts away forever! We are longtime members of the Canadian Wildlife Federation and the Alberta Institute For Wildlife Conservation. I enjoy bird watching and gardening. We are highly active people who indulge in hiking, golfing, skiing, ice skating, snowshoeing, biking, kayaking, swimming and of course, walking dogs and cuddling cats!
Kirk is very mechanical and would most likely be able to fix minor mishaps, should they occur, in your home. We have owned houses with pools and can perform the basic maintenance required.
While you are away, we like to stay in contact with you by sending photos of your pet(s) and updates on your home.

Sandy and Kirk were professional, courteous, conscientious, and a joy to have in our home and take care of our two large dogs. They went above and beyond to arrive at our home before our departure so they could acquaint themselves with our dogs’ not so ordinary routines. Our English Setter had recently received stitches for a cut paw. Sandy and Kirk accepted this additional responsibility with confidence. They came up with ingenious ideas to trick our dog into taking his many meds. Sandy even made him turkey soup! Each dog had his own special daily routines which were met. Vet checks and addition medical supplies were provided for our Setter’s recovery.
Daily updates gave us peace of mind that they were in capable hands. They were perfect house guests and even had a Covid test before arrival. The house was immaculate and clean when we arrived home.
Sandy and Kirk are delightful and we would highly recommend them as house and pet sitters.
We miss them already!

Sandra and her husband Kirk are meticulous, friendly and loving people. I have known them both for about twenty years and am happy to provide an excellent reference for them. I have stayed in their home on numerous occassions, and know first hand how carefully they care for both home and garden. They have had dogs who were always treated with the utmost of care and love, and now they have a cat who is showered with attention. Sandra is the type of person who falls in love with each little kitty or dog that she meets and has a warm, gentle mannerism with animals. Sandy and Kirk have also stayed at my home many times and they are the best guests one could imagine.
