Hello I’m David/Dave

I am an active and fully self funded retiree since 2018. I love to travel this great country and overseas and mixing it up with house, apartment, farmlet and pet sits and getting on the open road in my home on wheels, the caravan. My permanent home is in Dickson, Canberra

I have 3 adult married children and 7 grandchildren.

My beautiful wife Jackie and I started house sitting in 2022. We did our first house sit in Canberra while owners were o/seas - (see feedback).

Sadly in late 2022 Jackie succumbed to cancer and passed away, hence why I am solo….

I love animals having had many dogs (3 Maltese Shitzus and a Jack Russell, now deceased), cats George a British Blue and Puzzy, (both now deceased), birds, guinea pigs, chooks, fish, bees, the menagerie over the years with our children.

I'm passionate about providing care for pets who need company. I understand the importance of routine and consistency, and I'll treat your pets with the love and respect they deserve, as their unconditional love is given in return.

I am an avid walker and happy to take your dog/s for walks if that is their routine.

I grew up on a 2,500 acre farm in my younger teenage years and am familiar with animal husbandry and the care of animals.

Jackie and I had our own 7 acre hobby farm in Bowning NSW for 6 years where we went for weekends and during the week. We had alpacas, bore goats and mixed poultry and a 100 mixed fruit tree orchard which we planted out and bees in hives to pollinate and for honey.

I am a quiet and respectful person, but like a chat, non smoking, and will take excellent care of your home, garden, plants, pets and animals. I take great pride in keeping a home clean and tidy, just like my own.

I am a keen and active gardener, vege grower, a bonsai enthusiast, like walking, reading and bike riding and a sudoku and crossword fan. I am very involved in my adult children’s and 7 grandchildren’s lives, probably a lot less in the past 2 years as I’ve been doing a lot of travel, but they know I am there when they need me.

Hit me up for a sitting period for your home, apartment or farm/farmlet and I’ll see if it fits in with my travels in my caravan or current house sits. I can fly or drive to your destination.

I have my latest 2025 police criminal check and references. I have a current WWVP card.
