More InformationHello. My name is Sylvie
Firstly, a little bit about myself.
I have enjoyed a 25 year career in Corporate and Not for Profit Marketing, but now that my young adult children are independent, I'm keen to travel a bit and do some more housesitting. To experience new places and to be able to enjoy time with pets and animals is my idea of "living the dream". I love giving other peoples' pet lots of love and affection- knowing that means homeowners can enjoy time away with complete peace of mind.
I currently have a mini-schnauzer named Benji who was given to me as a puppy by a very generous homeowner (a vet) for whom I did 2 weeks of housesitting. That housesitting opportunity involved minding a beautiful big new home on acreage, and looking after 8 breeding dogs, one with five puppies, and one who gave birth to her first litter during my stay. In addition there were a couple of sheep, half a dozen chooks and a gorgeous variety of birds to look after and enjoy. I loved that first experience and it was the start of my interest in housesitting.
I am fit and healthy myself and enjoy taking my dog Benji on a long walk each morning. (Speaking of Benji - he is available to come along to housesitting if your pets would enjoy the company otherwise I leave him at home).
I am happily married, but my husband travels a lot with work, so sometimes I housesit on my own, and other times he can join me if he is on holidays.
I've owned and enjoyed a wide variety of pets myself (cats, dogs, birds, fish, rats and guinea pigs). I've looked after an even wider variety of pets for others including chooks, birds, and a few sheep.
Having owned my own home means you can be confident that I know how to look after and care for your home and garden, too. I am tidy, responsible and respectful of your home and belongings.
I'm transitioning out of full-time, office-based employment into part-time, home-office based work (ie appointments with clients via Skype). This means, as long as I am in a location with reliable mobile reception, I can hotspot from my mobile phone and work from virtually anywhere. Importantly, this means I'm home most of the day- which means your pet has more company each day, and you have greater security for your home.
I have excellent Airbnb guest rating reviews (available on request) and I also have a Blue Card (which includes a Police Check)
My friends describe me as quiet, kind and caring and I genuinely enjoy helping people out. I enjoy reading, cooking, gardening and swimming.
So, that is a little about me. If you think my experience would suit you and your housesitting needs, please feel free to contact me for a chat. I'd love to help if I can.
I look forward to hearing from you.
