We're currently seeking house-sits in the Wollongong region as Fabian's father is undergoing treatment for an aggressive cancer (he lives in Wollongong). We have luckily secured sits to the end of July 2018, but are still interested in sits from mid July-October 2018.

We live in a 70's era flat in inner-north Melbourne normally, but thankfully our work locations are entirely flexible so we have relocated to Wollongong for the duration of Fabian's Dad's treatment.

I'm a PhD student at the University of Melbourne, and Fabian is a consultant in the humanitarian shelter field. Fabian grew up in Canberra, and I was born and raised in Katherine. We've previously lived for a year in Yogyakarta, Indonesia together on an Australian Volunteer placement, and we've traveled throughout Australia for fun and for my PhD field work.

We're looking for a quiet house to retreat to while helping care for Fabian's dad. We're very clean and tidy, both really like pets (I grew up with big and small dogs, and Fabian loves cats and fish), and love gardening both indoor and outdoor (we won't over-water or under-water!). While in Indonesia we inherited a relatively large dog with our house, who was quite wild, but we managed to train him to be the perfect pet by the time we left! We also had pet ducks, and a fish pond and fish tank. In Melbourne we have a small fish tank, and lots of indoor and outdoor plants as we can't have larger pets in our flat unfortunately.

We've lived together for 4-5 years and are both very respectful of our own, and other people's property. We're not really drinkers, neither of us have ever been smokers, and we like to cook our own meals rather than order-in. We usually ride our bikes everywhere, but we'll have our car in Wollongong.

I sometimes work for a company called She Flies, teaching students (predominately girls) to fly drones to encourage them into science. So hopefully I can pick up a bit of work while in Wollongong! I've included a link to my Australian Science Channel video about my work with She Flies so you can get a sense of who I am :) through that work I have a valid Working With Children card, which requires a clean Police Check.
