Hello!
My name is Richard, I'm 30, from Sydney and I run a couple of online businesses. I'm an experienced house- and pet-sitter and love taking care of others' homes, pets and gardens . If your pet has an insta account I can take care of that too! ;). My hours are super flexible and I work from home. I treat other people's property with the utmost respect and have some glowing reviews from previous owners.


My current main venture is an online tutoring company called Tutify :). I’ve been running the business for the last 2 years in Sydney, mostly remotely from my laptop, although I am a long-time member of the “tech-startup” co-working space in the CBD called Fishburners, which I enjoy visiting as much as possible to catch up with my network. I spent a lot of time house-sitting for friends and family during this period because I am able to work remotely, can control my hours and I love looking after pets and gardens!

I recently decided to start house-sitting full-time as I wasn’t really getting much value from renting and it is a good way to save money to reinvest in my company and give me the best chances of long-term success. It also allows me look after pets, which I was unable to do whilst renting, and doesn’t really impact my lifestyle at all, being somewhat of a self-employed, digital nomad!

A little bit more about me…

House-sitting experience:
I am an experienced house- and pet-sitter, and regularly look after a family friend’s house and their two cats (Tilly and Tarquin) for long stints when they go away (3-4 times a year). I have also looked after various different types of dogs and even a snake. If your dog has an insta account, I can manage that too while you’re away!! ;) just kidding :). I also have a recent police check and working with children certificate.

I will give your pet(s) a huge amount of TLC and lots of activity (if that's what they like). I also frequently clean and tidy the places I stay at and will make sure yours is spotless upon your return. I'm also a big fan of tending to gardens (I cultivated an impressive garden from scratch at my previous rental) and so you can be sure your plants will be beautifully maintained while you're away. Finally, I always communicate with owners daily, sending photos and status checks, unless they ask not to. In short, I want owners to feel like their prized possessions are in good hands and they can enjoy their sojourns!

Lifestyle:
I keep very fit and healthy (I don't smoke and regularly do triathlons - refer photos :)) and am very driven and focussed on work. I have a very extensive social and professional network in Sydney and so have no issue living alone - in fact, it's the only place where I can get much-needed downtime!

Hobbies:
I don't have much time for hobbies these days! Work and looking after my friends' kids or dogs are what I enjoy and what keep me busy.

Transport:
I travel around the city mostly by bicycle, with a little help from public transport, and other shared services such as GoGet, CarNextDoor and dockless bike sharing. I also have access to a car that I share with my brother, who lives on the lower North Shore of Sydney.
