Hello, I'm Mandy, thank you for reading my profile.

My nature is calm, gentle, respectful and confident with pets and all animals so you can be sure of peace of mind when you trust me to care for your pets.

I am different because I home and pet sit because I love it, not because I have no home or no employment. I feel that being 100% present makes all the difference to your fur babies.

Please read my excellent 5* reviews below from previous sits on this site, previous owners confirm I will treat your pets and home with the upmost respect.

Past successful sits from this site include looking after rural properties and city homes. Mostly with multiple pets including Dogs, Cats, Birds, Chooks and Horses.

I have been absent from the mindahome site for a while as I now have my regular sits so here is a little bit about me:

I am having a great life. Born in England I have lived in Australia for the past 40 years and have called Port Macquarie, NSW, home for the past 22 years.

You will find me easy to make friends with. I am quiet and calm, caring and very clean. An early to bed, early to rise girl, I am fit, active, and really love walking and exploring new beaches, parks and trails, preferably with a tail a wagging companion close by. In my downtime I enjoy Yoga, cooking and reading.

ANIMAL EXPERIENCE:
I loooove dogs and cats...who doesn't like a sloppy kiss and a cuddle?
I grew up with horses and dogs in England and my passion for riding continued into my thirties. I have experience with dogs, cats, horses , chickens and donkeys and have the ability to learn how to care for other animals.
Dad has an African Grey Parrot whom is now 36 and in the past we have owned Rough Collies, Jack Russells and Border Collies. (I used to help the Master of Hounds with the Fox Hound pack - before I knew better!). In fact, my first couple of paid jobs were in a boarding kennel and cattery so I can handle the yukky stuff too!

EXPERIENCE AROUND THE HOME AND GARDEN: I have owned many homes and can do a lot more than change a light bulb! I look after most of the maintenance in my current multi-level home and gardens. With a passion for gardening nothing gets planted unless I can eat it or it attracts and feeds the birds and bees.

SMALL PROPERTY EXPERIENCE: Just before moving into Port Macquarie, I lived on a two and a half acre rural property for eleven years. A labour of love with an orchard, dam, integrated gardens and vege patches. So I know what hard work is, and what the driver’s view from a ride on looks like!
we had a two cheeky Jack Russells, one, Brewster had a heart of gold. Brewster was given his angel wings far too young at 4 years old from Addison’s. The other, Buddy, an escape artist that ‘Houdini’ would have been proud of, passed at 18 as a geriatric. We also owned a beautiful steel grey Tonkinese, cat, Fergus, whom was a tradeoff for my son's need for a ferret! My son is now a Police Officer in the Northern Rivers and seeks out other kinds of ferrets!!

AIRBNB SUPERHOST: Not so much these days however when I am not away, and time and inclination permits, I have listed two spaces in my home on Airbnb. I am proud to be a ‘Superhost’ and have five star reviews for being both a successful host and as a respectful and tidy Airbnb guest.

VOLUNTEERING EXPERIENCE: Being born to organise and be creative, I have had many local
volunteering opportunities to be of service to others. These include running the primary school canteen for two years and creating and organising two very successful weekend youth camps for high school drummers (my son was a Jazz Drummer before he joined the Police Force).

I spent most of 2018 overseas hiking and volunteering in England, Spain and USA. In Spain I volunteered on a Donkey Refuge which had twenty six donkeys, sixteen cats, four dogs and a pig!
I also volunteered on a small farm for a young family and worked in their vegetable garden.
In the USA I took a ‘Workaway’ position for three weeks in Boone, North Carolina, where I cleaned house, looked after two Airbnb rooms and painted an artistic wall.

I was christened with the name ‘The Queen of Clean’ when I volunteered with the Youth Hostel Association in England. As a housekeeper and kitchen team member I helped at three of YHA's beautiful properties, Grasmere and Eskdale in the picturesque hiking area of the Lake District and rugged coastal Perranporth in Cornwall.

TRAVELLING EXPERIENCES: How blessed am I to be so well traveled! I have always been a traveler, not a tourist, and have explored 28 countries over the years. My adventures include riding an Arab Pony around the Egyptian pyramids at sunset, punting up a small tributary in Borneo searching for Proboscis Monkeys, living in Bali, trekking in the Nepalese Himalayas, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania Africa and walking 800km from France across the Pyrenees into Spain along the whole length of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage trail.

CURRENT EMPLOYMENT: I have enjoyed paid employment with the Australian Public Service since 2006. I work as an Executive Assistant for a multi award winning Disability and Inclusion advocate which is very rewarding.
I work flexibly from home, or other locations, Monday to Friday usually, which makes work and sitting very easy. Also, taking flex time of rec leave is accommodated.

REFERENCES: I have a Current Working with Children Check and a NSW Police clearance. I have verified Airbnb reviews as a guest in others' homes, and I have also retrieved two reviews from my overseas volunteering. Being a Government employee, I have clearance checks for Medical, Criminal, Security and Confidentiality…..squeaky clean!

By creating some wonderful home and pet sitting memories through this platform and beyond, I not only enrich my own life, I help others with their own adventures, making new friends along the way of both two and four legged varieties! I give peace of mind that homes and cherished pets will be well cared for while you are away so that you can relax and enjoy yourself fully.
