More information about this house sitter

Hello fellow Animal Lovers🐾

We are fully vaccinated, non-smokers who appreciate the quiet life and share a love of all creatures great and small.

We take pride in giving pets & homes the love and care they deserve and have never had pets fret while in our care. We genuinely enjoy their company and won't leave them on their own for more than a couple of hours a day. We see this as especially important for rescue animals - particularly those that are accustomed to having their humans home for extended periods.

What brings us here? Unfortunately we can't have pets where we live. The silver lining being that we are here to love & serve other fur, feathered or hooved babies out there.

Growing up, my family always had a beautiful rescue hound in its midst (7 to date...) ranging from a small Terrier x with Poodle, to Labradors, a Bull Arab x with a Great Dane (A BIG Boy), and another Labrador...I've worked as a Volunteer with the RSPCA; a Volunteer Horse Riding Instructor at a school for disabled children; and helped raise a very bouncy litter of Border Collie puppies on a Merino farm.

We've also helped rescue joeys, turtles, birds, and possums. The possum photos are just one of our rescue missions - a beautiful possum mum that we noticed starving and distressed out in freezing weather (not in a sheltered spot) and broad daylight with her little baby. They are now living very happily on a beautiful rural property.

Our preference is for sits on small acreage (or homes in quiet locations with ample garden space) in peaceful regional coastal and country areas.

We're tea totallers who enjoy a very occasional beer or wine and take pride in our home, belongings and surroundings - also respecting those of others.

As a former Interior Designer I've been trusted with the keys to many homes over the years. These included family homes, penthouses and ski chalets through to historic homesteads. My work has featured in magazines including Australian House & Garden. You will see a very small sample of some of my projects here.

I have a passion for nature-based photography and candid animal portraits. Who knows, you may end up with a pet portrait if we're so fortunate as to look after your animal companions...or should that be the other way around...? We like to think the joy goes both ways.

We've yet to encounter an animal that doesn't respond well to us - even the most timid seem to bond quite quickly.

We trust you'll wholeheartedly agree that taking care of someone else's home and much loved pets is a big responsibility. As such, we consider it important to establish a clear, upfront understanding of the following:

- expectations around pet, home, garden care;
- the animals - including any quirks, ailments or fears we'd need to be aware of during a sit;
- emergency arrangements; and
- the home environment and surroundings.

For this reason we'll only consider sits where owners take the time & care to provide detailed information. We're happy to answer any questions you may have & trust the same courtesy will be returned to us.

I should note we often receive pet sitting requests via referral/word of mouth (not just through MindaHome). As such, the sooner we hear from you/receive confirmation the better. That is of course, if you feel we might be the right sitters for you and your pets.

Hopefully this provides some insight into our love of animals.

Hope to hear from you soon!
