More information about this house sitter

We left Darwin in May 2015 to travel slowly around Australia and were looking to stay in certain areas longer.

We have finally found a place to settle & are not looking for housesitting places at the moment. Covid has changed our lives, as it has many, & making plans into the future seems slightly ludicrous right now. We will stay on here & keep our registration active for the future when we can all move more freely.

For work my darling did on the job support for disadvantaged and disabled and I encouraged government employees to use electronic record keeping systems. We are happy to leave that behind and enjoy parts of Australia we haven't seen before.

We enjoy cats, dogs, chooks, gardening and cooking - not necessarily in that order.

Having lived in houses and appartment's in the past we have always cultivated a garden. Sometimes the garden has been on a balcony and other times it has been fairly extensive grounds. I enjoy both.

We have owned and loved a number of pets, none of whom are alive now, due to old age, but we do miss having them around.

We both have police clearance from the NT and can offer references on request, plus the reviews you can see on this site. We try and get off the road for school holidays and during winter, we are still soft northerners!

We have added a recent picture of us caring for some dogs while a couple had a holiday. Then the lovely speckled chook in Gympie, one of 15, who were free range, organic and heaps of fun. We did sell the excess eggs, as arranged by the owners, as there were just too many. Next some of the beautiful baby kittens we cared for from 3 weeks till they were 11 weeks old. Mother cat was a rescue & insisted on teaching hunting by bringing in half dead local fauna. Then there was the beautiful Jessie who was fun and enjoyed a number of outings with us, some overnight as she was extremely well behaved. Last but definitely not least, gorgeous Taco, reclining with fresh flowers & a colourful piece of fabric. She did love a contrast.

We love them all and enjoy being able to care for these beautiful places.
