More information about this house sitterHi there! Our mum Belinda is 44 yrs & a mobile massage therapist. She is also a mother who teaches us! We are two primary school boys, ages 10 & 8 yrs. Wr have been travelling & homeschooling through School of Air since 2015.
This makes life much easier because dad has always worked fifo or living remotely for long periods. Currently he is in Mt Isa. We also have family Australia wide that we visit often. Mum’s sole trading business has earned her clients also Australia wide. She has over a decade of experience working in several exclusive hotels and day spas. Some clients wait just for mum to visit to receive massage, no matter where they move to! Eventually she sees them again!!
We have been house sitting for family & friends for several years before making this professional profile. It started out mostly friends and family which also saved a lot of money on accommodation costs! It’s also given us boys a more comfortable lifestyle while away from home. We are also able to visit more local attractions and places of interests by doing this.
We have only recently in the past year joined this website because Mum had reservations about staying in strangers homes. But then she kept meeting other families who have been doing this successfully and safely so thought why not try it! Since then we have been open to receiving help from kind people like yourself to be able to travel and homeschool! We are happy to say so far so good!
We are all animal lovers especially dogs, cats, birds & fish. We have looked after many different breeds of dogs over the years. Including dogs while birthing pups. Mum grew up on a well know egg farm called Sunny Queen Eggs just on the out skirts of Bne city in Pullenvale.
She had not only chickens to collect thousands of eggs but they also had cattle, horses, dogs, cats etc.She also had several dams, tractors, and very aware of the responsibilities and dangers of not remembering to close gates & not take her eyes off us boys etc.
We would love to travel with animals but it’s very difficult these days especially with dogs being banned in many places like National parks. Cats are also a pleasure to spend time with and we are very patient not to force ourselves into them, even with the most shy cats, because we know that they may take a day or so to befriend us!
We love to go for walks and it wouldn’t be a chore taking your dog also! In fact we can’t go for walks in parks or on a beach with out asking people with dogs, if we can pat them. From small fox terrors to bull Arabs, we love all breeds of dogs. We also have lots of experience with other animals especially cats, chicken and fish.
Dad works in Mt Isa at the moment as mentioned earlier, but has done fifo since we were born. We are use to the long periods away from each other. Dad does join us on his days off occasionally. But we return home every few months to spend quality time together. We spent Christmas together house sitting in Brisbane which was so much fun!!
We have travelled long distance to spend time with family & friends since we were little children, so now it’s the norm to travel 500 klms a day if need be. Our older siblings who attend uni in north QLD live in one of our homes that we visit several times of the year. Brisbane, north Qld and Central Qld is where we base our selves when not house sitting.
Mum has always travelled since leaving home at 21 yrs old! Now we also love to travel rather stay home and do just bookwork or boring stuff 365 days a year! We are constantly learning no matter where we are! We are an active and an very out door family who love to explore, hike, fish, swim etc! But also like to keep to ourselves.
Mum as mentioned massage clients Australia wide & has been massaging for nearly two decades. Previously she worked in hospitality in hotels doing reservations before learning massage therapy. She has over the past 15 yrs contracting her self to exclusive spas and five star hotels also during this time. Hotels include Emporium, Gambaros, Cullen Bay Day spa, Michelle’s Day spa, Chloe Louise skin & body, Cocoa Brown. Now it’s too difficult to do this so offers mobile massage while travelling.
Dad is a jack of all trades. He is a carpenter, boilermaker and now a water operator and controls the Moondarra lake dam and water supply to Mt Isa mine and the town for Mt Isa waterboard. He also has a out door fish pond in our court yard in Mt Isa. we live on the river going out to the lake!
We also have a small fox terrier we love to walk and play with when home with him. We often help clean the filter and feed the fish. Our big sister has a cat called Nemo, who we rescued as a kitten from rspca in the infectious disease section. He had a cat flu. But we were very careful around him until he got 100% better. He is very affectionate and climbs into bed with us when we return home to Townsville. our brothers both have staffi x and we love to play and walk them also! Buddy, Daisy & Nova are their names! They are all part of our big family!
Mum loves plants and growing vegetables. At a very young age she was employed in a unique rainforest sanctuary walk in a Pullenvale in Brisbane also. Learnt a lot about plants. We often visit local botanical gardens & national parks learning about the different fauna. It was also plant nursery. She learnt lots about all kinds of plants & horticulture.
Any outdoor watering needing to be done is not problem. For long term stays, mowing, fertilising and weeding is not a chore for her, as we said we I love the outdoors! We love helping in the yard & garden. We have a 10 m x 10 m vegetable garden in one of our homes we now rent, that Mum and Dad had for several years to feed us. We helped plants the seeds and water. Now dad just has a much smaller garden in Mt Isa. He also built a outdoor bathroom with ferns and a pond for mum to relax in when we are home!
Mum has a national police check, online rent check and references for your own peace of mind also. She is a trustworthy & reputable person. We have many home sitters more then happy to be a referee! She doesn’t like to bother people for written references. But asked if it’s okay to share their contact details for references which everyone is pleased to do! Please feel free to ask for any numbers to speak to them and ask any questions you may have.
We understand that leaving our animals it’s important to be making sure when you leave them with strangers they are going to be very safe! Our mum would not leave us with anyone She didn’t know was 100% responsible and trustworthy.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Troy, Joel & Mum Belle!
