Hi to our fellow travellers, house and pet-owners.

We are Charles and Xia, a retired couple, non-smokers, keen travellers who keep modestly fit.

We are a responsible, reliable and security conscious couple having been proud house owners, gardeners and pet lovers our entire adult lives and will take the greatest care of your property and pets for the duration of our stay, as if they were our own.

Over the years we've been owned by several loving dogs, a couple of affectionate tabbies and the odd budgie and wild birds, plus a gold fish or 2 and a lizard/tortoise for good luck. We speak your language if you've also shared the love and respect of fellow creatures and are house/garden proud.

I, Charles, had a career working for the Federal Government in Canberra for 40 years which required regular security clearances/police checks. I haven't gone off the rails since retiring and we both have police reports available should you wish to check.

We've been on both sides of house and pet sitting, as recipients and providers, so have a very good understanding of your concerns and will regularly update you throughout the house-sit so you can have complete peace of mind.

While we are newbies to Mindahome we are also longstanding members of another house-sitting web-site and since 2016 we have successfully competed 7 house sits, from 6 weeks to 4 months duration – resulting in 7 happy and satisfied families/couples who were able to enjoy a relaxed time travelling confident in the knowledge that all was going well at home. As you can see we’re quite experienced and professional in our approach. We really enjoy house-sitting and love animals, while at the same time we take our responsibilities very seriously. We’ve carefully looked after houses with pets and beautiful gardens and maintained pools to looking after apartments with pets and pot-plants. The full range of responsibilities.

Most years we are looking for house-sitting opportunities from November to March. Though we can be relatively flexible around these dates to fit in with your plans.

Likewise, we don't have hard and fast preferences for house sitting locations. Our only limits are those of transport – outside of NSW we'll be relying on public transport to get to and from your property and to do shopping. In most cases this shouldn't be a problem.

About half the time people have been happy to let us use their car for short shopping trips – we've never had any issues. Please keep this in mind if you live any distance away from the local shopping centre – thanks.

Apart from all the usual household arrangements our only real need is availability of wifi, though this is not a deal breaker.

Because we are regular overseas travelers the best means for initial contact would be via the Mindahome website – follow-up by email, Skype, FaceTime or FB Messenger.
