Two intrepid teachers (retired)

We are starting to look for a cat sit in ( preferably inner) Brisbane in approximately November as we would like to catch up with our daughter who is doing her PhD, she lives at Toowong

Early in 2019 we left our teaching positions, rented out our home and hit the road. Our home was 25 acres in Central Queensland where we spent 25 years raising our two beautiful daughters as well as cats, dogs, chooks, guinea pigs and mice. We have since sold that property and bought a unit in Emu Park, QLD, where we live when we’re not travelling
We have discovered the joy of overseas travel and are thankful to be able to spend a few months every year exploring new countries
Pet sitting in the UK has added a very special dimension to our travels as we get to experience life as a local and enjoy the company of wonderful pets!

We have considerable experience housesitting over the past seven years although we don’t sit full time
So far, we have completed at over 20 house sits in Australia caring for 25 dogs and 14 cats along the way. The dogs have ranged from small lapdogs (one being a diabetic) to active working dogs such as Border Collies and Blue Cattle Dogs.
Cats have included two British Blues, Ragdolls, Burmese,a Bengal, a Turkish Van and a large variety of domestic shorthairs
We have also had many of our own pets mainly cats and dogs but including guinea pigs and mice over the last 40 years
In addition we are very grateful for the 12 sits we did in the UK over the past three European summers which enabled us to extend our stay and experience life as a local as well as meet fabulous owners and their pets

Graeme had been a high school teacher for nearly 40 years, is still involved with the Australian Air Force Cadets youth development organisation and was also an officer in the RAAF (Reserve).
Lennai had been an early childhood and special needs teacher for over 30 years with a break to be an At Home Mum and was actively involved with the Australian Breastfeeding Association.

Obviously, we love to travel, meet people and make new friends. We are both non-smokers and very light, social drinkers. We are very aware of the responsibilities which come with house sitting and are always appreciative of the trust that home owners/pet parents give us

Pets, gardening and basic pool maintenance are not a problem as we have experience in these areas. We have a love of nature and enjoy animals (friendly ones), gardens and gardening, bushwalking, kayaking and exploring new places.
As well as embracing an active lifestyle, we pride ourselves in being organised and house proud with a highly developed attention to detail.
We have had considerable experience taking care of other people’s homes and pets in both Australia and the UK and find that it very much enriches our lives, giving us much appreciated time with animals as due to our travelling lifestyle we are unable to have our own pets
Although we don’t sit full time, only as it fits into our lifestyle at the time, when we undertake a sit we ensure that we take our responsibilities seriously and do our utmost to ensure peace of mind
