In our 20s and 30s we took our kids camping following orienteering 4 day events around SA, VIC and NSW. In our 40 and 50s we did some organised orienteering trips in Europe and in Turkey. We took up cross country skiing during this time. This led to a visit to Slovakia to meet our new son-in-law's family. At age 50 we moved from an ACT suburb to a 5 acre block just across the border. We designed a solar passive house. We employed a horde of european orienteering tradesmen friends to build it. It has a lovely warm feel to it. Terry and I did a lot of the unskilled labouring!! whilst still working full time in the ACT. We had a series of dogs and a cat or two. We miss them. But now we plan to travel its better to wait for awhile. We will look forward to meeting yours!!! You will love our place. Its peaceful. A noisy duck occasionally. Kangaroos having a territory dispute. Were on a dead end street. So no animals to look after. But I have a small raised veggie garden bed. An enclosed berry patch with blackberries, raspberries and redcurrant. Also 3 flower beds. All these are on tap timers so you don't have to do much. Just check that there are no problems. We are fit 70yr olds and both have had covid19 jabs. Read more...
