Hi, we are semi-retirees travelling around Australia with a caravan and 4WD and have decided to rent out our family home in Perth while traveling. Our grandchildren are spread across Australia so we are planning to spend a couple of months each year close to them in between our travels and adventures.
Over the last 26 years we have operated our own businesses in the marine tourism industry and have now decided to take a step back, slow down and divest most of our business commitments and become tourists instead of tourism operators.
we have owned our own houses for most of our 37 years of marriage, some of which we have renovated and all of which have been maintained to a high level. John qualified as a horticulturalist in his earlier years and has used his skills in landscaping and handyman experience to improve and maintain inside and outdoor areas of the properties we have owned. Leonie, referred to by our daughters as a cleaning freak, takes great pride in general house keeping skills.
Through most of our lives we have had family pets, and although we have decided not to have a pet while travelling, it is a constant discussion point as we do miss having the company of a pet and do look forward to spending some time with pets during our house sitting. Read more...
