More information about this house sitter

Gerry & Peter - a mature retired couple who love cats and dogs and will take great care of your home.
Peter and I have retired after a long mixed career. Peter has worked in the IT and Corporate world. Gerry has also worked in IT but for the last 22 years has practised as a Somatic Psychotherapist and most recently has worked in Aged Care and Palliative Care. But now is the time for adventure and travel, initially in Australia but then to Europe. Gerry and Peter have received their Irish Passports so we will be able to live in the EU permanently. In the meantime we are open to possibilities in Australia. We left Sydney in May 2019 and headed toward South Australia, up to the Centre and then over to WA, back to NT and SA. We are now back in WA. From here the world is our oyster.
We have been house sitting since last May 2019 looking after cats, dogs, sheep, cattle and lots of chooks, on houses in towns and on rural properties, and we love it
Peter and I have both done personal work where the key ethos was to leave a place better off for our having been there. We are both handy and practical and can address most household tasks. Peter grew up in a horse racing stable and is comfortable around horses and other large farm animals. We can also turn our hand to looking after gardens and other bigger plantations, having been involved in an olive plantation.
Since COVID-19 hit we spent six months on a sheep and wheat farm out in the Wheatbelt looking after two Red Cloud Kelpies, lots of chooks, ducks and turkeys, an orchard and a vegetable garden, with a trip back to Bunbury for a return sit and a tour down south to see the wildflowers.
We then moved to Mandurah for a house sit for five weeks, then two more sits around Perth before heading to Darwin for three months in the Wet.
Then it was back to SA for more sits from mid April 2021 till November 2022, including one on a Wildlife Refuge looking after 17 kangaroos and two dogs, exciting.
We came back to WA to go back to the farm in the Wheatbelt and were booked up until February 2024 around the state.
We have since moved to France and doing house sits in the South.
The adventure continues.
