More information about this house sitter
Howdy there!
My name's Brooke and I'm a super friendly young person based out of Melbourne and working at a University.
NOTE: looking for opportunties in the following (+ surrounding) suburbs : Hawthorn, Box Hill, Balwyn, Kew, Malvern, Richmond, Fitzroy, Collingwood, Abbotsford, Alphington, Fairfield, Brunswick East.
I've done a lot of travel in the past few years and am really eager to settle into the city, get more familiar with different areas, and properly experience the place I call home!
While having my own pets would be nice, it's not feasible given my living / work situation. Having always grown up with pets (dogs, cats, guinea pigs, chickens), I always feel more at home with them around. I love their company and am especially fond of dogs as I am a VERY keen walker (it's not uncommon for me to walk from one side of the city to the other!).
In terms of my living 'style', I'm very good at maintaining a house. I'm extremely tidy, clean regularly / thoroughly and am extremely respectful of other people's spaces & belongings. I pride myself on the fact that I treat other people's things as if they were my own and ensure everything is always left the way I found it. I can provide a long list of ex-housemates who can attest to this and also be character references too.
In terms of my work, my job is a hybrid role meaning I'm 3 days in the office and 2 days at home. For pets who need constant company, I'll never be away for too long. As mentioned, I have recently done a lot of travel and have no extended trips planned for the foreseeable future. My main focus is saving for a house deposit. I do, however, have a RAV4 which I'd be more than happy to use to transport pets and taken them on day trips to the beach or countryside (of course, with approval of the owners ahead of time!)
The rental market in Melbourne is nuts! While I've explored getting my own rental and going back into share houses *again*, it's excessively expensive.
Instead, I want to break up living with family by doing extended stints house sitting; the longer I can housesit for, the better :)
It'll be a great way to get time away from the family, experience life in a range of suburbs, and hopefully help inform my decision when I eventually look to buy my own place.
Hopefully this gives you a good idea of why I'm doing this and what you can expect from me! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions :)
Kindly
