More information about this house sitter

Hello! We are Alison (51) and Barry (62), a semi-retired and youthful couple who love animals and love to travel. For the last 3 out of 4 years we have escaped our cold Canadian winters to spend 3-4 months in Australia, traveling around the country looking after pets and homes. We are currently in Australia until March 11th, 2020 with some free time available for petsits from Feb 23 - March 10, 2020.

We are non-smokers. Alison grew up on a farm in British Columbia, Canada, caring for horses, cows, sheep, chickens, rabbits, cats and dogs. Together, we have built 2 new homes. Barry is an all-round fix-it kind of guy, and a retired helicopter mechanic. Alison sits on three private foundation boards, and uses her banking background to help the foundations with their funding decisions.

We have most recently had a cat (who lived to a wonderful age of 19) and our beloved dog Sampson who passed away just shy of 12 years of age. Sampson had diabetes in his last few months, and we learned how to administer insulin via injections twice a day.

Alison's parents still live on a farm, and for the past 20 years, we have been their house sitters when they take their holidays. We have overseen their sheep, dogs and cat; and maintained their home with pool.

We have been members of another house/pet-sitting site and have 24 sitting assignments under our belt. We pride ourselves in always garnering 5* reviews.

We will care for your home and pets as if they were our own. We are extremely clean, calm, and caring people. We adore the pets we care for! We are considerate of your housing costs and ensure we use your heat/air con and water to a minimum. We recycle, reuse and care for our environment the best we can. Read more...
