About this house sitting position in Acheron
Our home is extremely private, at the end of a 1.5km dirt driveway, overlooking the Goulburn River. It's definitely all about the location!
We are publicans in nearby Alexandra, so don't have the time to keep up our garden (so please don't judge!!) but our animals are true members of the family. We take our dogs on holidays with us, but need an animal lover to look after our very friendly and playful cat, 17 chooks, hand raised cow and damara ram. You will see evidence in the garden of our over exuberant dogs' playing style... Much as I would love you to bring your own pets, Sally (a desexed male cat, long story!) doesn't take kindly to strange animals on his turf, so best not.
We have canoes and other equipment in the shed for your use, as well as trampolines if that's your idea of fun. The property runs on tank water, which is pumped up from the Goulburn - these tanks will be full when we leave, and automatically fill the trough for the animals, although the chooks need to be fed (food scraps are always welcome, if you have any) and watered every day. They will reward you with an abundance of delicious eggs. The cow (Fudge) and the ram (Swoosh) will happily eat from your hand, and love fruit/vege scraps and stale bread.
We have the NBN, Netflix, Foxtel, etc, and would of course give you all the log in details.
We'd also love you to be our guest for dinner at our pub in Alexandra - The Corner Hotel - and will leave instructions for a dinner tab with our manager, if you would like.
We are lucky to be in an area with an abundance of natural beauty, bushwalking at the nearby Cathedral Range, local producers such as trout farms, cherry farms and wineries. Lots to do, if you so desire!
