About this house sitting position in Albany Creek

Let me start with the most important criteria… you must LOVE cats (and dogs)!!

We love our fur babies, they mean the world to us. Over the years, we have fostered many kittens and cats, and of course have fallen in love with way too many, which means we managed to adopt 5 cats along the way.

Our cats are pretty self-sufficient, and most times you won't see them all at once, so it feels like there are only 2 cats in the house! Seriously!! However… as there are 5 cats in the house (+1 foster cat), this does mean there are 3 litter trays in use, and daily scooping is required. The litter trays are on the deck (fully cat netted for safety). Please note, apart from the enclosed, fully netted deck, our cats are indoors only.

Our dog hangs out with cats all day, so basically he thinks he's a cat! He loves to curl up beside you, on your bed, or by your feet. He enjoys going for a walk (if you feel like it), and he loves popping over to our next door neighbour's to say hi. Any chance he gets, he will squeeze under our neighbour's fence to socialise.

Our House and Neighbourhood:
Our 4 bedroom, 2 storey home is located in a quiet area in Albany Creek. We are very blessed to live in a great neighbourhood, with excellent neighbours. Over the years we have renovated, and bit by bit, our home has started to take shape.

We back on to a beautiful reserve with a walking/bike path. It's stunning to sit on the deck in the morning or late afternoon to enjoy the outlook. It's easy to imagine you are far from the city, when in fact it's less than 20km from the CBD.

Other house features include air con and an in-ground swimming pool and outdoor entertainment area. The yard is low maintenance (synthetic turf), so the only real grassy area is the footpath. It's a breeze to mow with a battery operated mower - you may only need to do this once (maybe twice) for this stay.

One other helpful point to mention - while we are close to public transport (nearby bus stop), you will find it easier to get around if you have your own car.

A little about us:
We are a little family of three. My husband, my 11 year old daughter and me. We are easy going and are home bodies generally. We work long hours so when we have downtime, family connection is a priority for us. My husband is a huge Star Wars fan and loves Halloween. In fact, we are known in the neighbourhood for our Halloween annual display! (We are just getting over Halloween currently!!)

My daughter keeps us on our toes. She loves to dance and she's super creative. As for me, I am happiest when surrounded by my pets!

We leave early on 8 Dec for our trip. I'm open to either:
1. Starting the house-sit on Sunday, 7 Dec - so we can do a quick run-down with you (we have a complete set-up downstairs, so we won't get in each other's way); or
2. Meeting sometime during the week for a handover and to give you keys, so you can move in on Mon, 8 Dec.
