About this house sitting position in Benowa

We are on an acre. Watering takes a long time. If there is no rain, this needs to be done every second day as there are many new plants, a herb garden etc. We are in the process of installing reticulation systems and these will save time, but there is always the odd plant or two which reticulation systems don’t reach. We have a swimming pool, filters may need to be emptied and the creepy crawly occasionally needs to have clogged leaves removed etc to enable it to keep cleaning the pool. We also have a tennis court
We need the post brought in from the mail box at the end of the drive and the AFR newspaper is dropped off each Saturday morning outside our front gate.
Our beautiful elderly border collie loves a daily swim in the nearby lake and this helps maintain her mobility as she is quite arthritic. Entrance to this lake is via a gate into the botanical gardens which border our property. Rosie is an inside dog and is used to having someone at home most of the time. She is only left alone for a few hours at the very most. We take her with if we go to the beach or out for coffee etc. She loves being nearby and will follow me everywhere - if I'm out gardening, she will lie down near me, if I'm working in the study, she's curled up near me. She sleeps on her own bed or carpet in our bedroom. She requires medication three times a day. She is not demanding in terms of wanting to be petted, she just wants to be near one.
We have an indoor aviary, the door of which is never closed. The 4 cockatiels are free to fly around, apart from the geriatric who can no longer fly. There is a ladder for this bird to access the bottom of the aviary where he spends most of the day. At night time he seems to prefer walking down the ladder and sleeping under the kitchen bench or elsewhere. Although the birds are free to fly around, they do hang around in their aviary often and they restrict themselves to flying around one area of the house. Two of the birds may want you to stroke them on their heads, another is very shy and may land on your head but is too scared to be stroked. The geriatric also prefers not to be handled. They all have their own personalities and need people who find birds interesting and adorable.
We have adult children living nearby. They love taking Rosie out for the odd day, walk etc. This could suit you if you do want to go out for the day without taking the dog. The children are shift workers so quite flexible with their time. They love the pets so would like to have contact with them during our absence.
