About this house sitting position in Berrima
We moved here from Sydney about seven years ago, and have slowly turned it into what we feel is a beautiful, relaxed and welcoming family home. We’ve invested a lot in the outdoor space, having it professionally designed by a landscape architect so we spend a good bit of time out there. By the pool in summer, and the fire pit in the cooler months, although we find ourselves dining outside all year round.
Inside, the main living space is an open plan, living dining kitchen area with polished floor boards connecting everything, and original artwork we’ve collected over the years throughout. The centre of all that is an enclosed fireplace that’s amazing in winter time, although we also have central heating and air-conditioning too.
There are three bedrooms in total, and a media room that also has a fold out sofa bed for two people. Our room has a double bed and a walk in closet, while the kids rooms have a single bed, and bunk beds respectively. The bathroom is a big space, full of light and incorporates a lovely deep bath along with a shower. The WiFi is excellent throughout, and we have two TVs where you can stream Netflix, Disney Plus, Prime and Apple TV.
We’ve also got a couple of kayaks and bikes you can use, along with a trampoline, a netball hoop and a hammock to rest in after all that. We’re right on the edge of the bush, and see Kangaroos all the time along with a wide variety of Rosellas, Black Cockatoos and all kinds of birds that I haven’t managed to identify as yet. If it’s a clear night the stars are amazing out there, and you can see the milky way arching right over the top of our home.
I absolutely love it here, you feel like you’re a million miles away from everything, but you’re only a five minute walk into the village full of restaurants, cafes and the oldest pub in Australia.
On top of all that there’s our dog Morris, of course, who’s a friendly Cocker Spaniel who just wants to be near people all the time. Read more...
