About this house sitting position in Cockatoo
We are a family with 2 pooches, one 9 year old Jack Russell cross and a 5 month old border collie. We live in a cottage on 1/2 acre in Cockatoo (Yarra Ranges, close to Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges). Our house is situated mid way in the mountains, therefore therefore we are surrounded by a lot of nature. Rosellas and king parrots tend to visit our front verandah daily. We are close to many nature walks, reserves and attractions around. You can even hear Puffin Billy from where we are. Emerald and Gembrook are couple of kms by car. Other nearby towns of interest - Warburton, Olinda/Sassafrass, Yarra Valley wineries etc. Own transport is a must as we live in the hills and the closest train station is in Belgrave (25min drive). Life is a bit slower over here, though all that you may need (shops, petrol station, etc ) is 2 min drive from the house or a 5-10min drive to Emerald. We would love for our house-sitter to be an animal lover that is familiar with puppy stages and is able to take our furry family members for a daily walk and play with them. Our dogs are inside/outside dogs and love to stay wherever the humans are . Lexie (9yrs) is an older lady but still loves her walks and cuddles. Scout (5mths) is a super smart, calm and cuddly boy who just melts everyone's heart.
Bit about the animals and some other notes:
Lexie - 9 year old Jack Russell cross. Easygoing, no barking, house trained, lovable, cuddly, loves people, inside/outside dog. Loves walks and sleeping next to you while you watch TV. Equally happy in her own bed in the lounge. Sleeps inside overnight.
Scout - 5 month old Border Collie (short haired, no grooming necessary). Super cuddly, very smart, no barking, loves people and other dogs, fast learner, aims to please, nearly house trained. Loves walks, play and mostly loves to be wherever you are. This is a trait of the breed, Border collies are like a shadow ;) Inside/outside dog. Sleeps inside overnight.
Light tasks - Feed the dogs, take the dogs for a walk daily - they probably need 1 hour (car required for this as there is no pathway on our street), play with the dogs daily, toileting, check their water.
Put bins out and collect bins - Thursdays.
Lizard (harmless bearded dragon) - switch light on in the morning, switch light off in the evening.
Birds (2 budgies) - check the seeds and water every 2nd day.
