About this house sitting position in Cooya Beach

Hi!

Due to unforeseen circumstances our current house sitter has to leave on the 15th December. We require a house sitter between 15th December and the end of March.

We are currently in South America and then going up to Canada to work the snow season, so we are looking for committed house sitters for the 3.5 months.

We live 10 minutes drive from the coastal tourist town of Port Douglas. The house is 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom and is located on 36 acres. It is very private and has a nice view of the mountains surrounding and the cane paddocks. The land is mostly sugar cane so there is no maintenance required for the land. Just daily watering of gardens around the house is required and mowing of the yard and grass around the house.

We have 3 dogs (A golden retriever and 2 smithfield heelers). They are all large dogs who need to be taken on a walk every day (late in the arvo or early in the morning) and a swim every couple of days as well. They are well behaved but all under 3 years old so very active and playful.

There are plenty of chickens that will need to be locked up every night and get fed everyday. There are currently 2 pigs as well which need to be fed once a day as well.

It will be right in the heart of summer, which means the temperature will be around 30+ degrees most days. The house does not have air-conditioning. There is a nice breeze that comes through though and plenty of fans. The mozzies can get pretty bad in summer but the whole house is fly screened.
