About this house sitting position in Dutton
My husband and I live on a 4 acre block which is totally off grid. We are only 15 minutes from Nuriootpa and the beautiful Barossa Valley with all it has to offer!
We have 2 Kelpies, 2 cats and lots of chickens! We would love the dogs to have a one hour walk daily, the cats to be fed morning and night, plus the chickens fed, watered and eggs collected. As we are looking to be away in summer, some of our extensive new garden will no doubt need watering. We keep a couple of bee hives on the property. So if you are allergic to bees, this may not be for you.
Understanding how to best use our solar energy will be important. There are no facilities in our small town, but Truro is only 5 minutes away. Nuriootpa has Aldi and a Cooperative supermarket.
It’s a peaceful place to live, with a beautiful country outlook.
The younger dog is a kelpie we “rescued” from a rehoming page when she was 2.5 years old and I’d dearly love her to remain at home with someone kind and caring, instead of putting her in a kennel while we are away. We have only had her about 6 months and her confidence has grown in leaps and bounds. They are both outside dogs, but each sleep separately in their own little cage and shed. They are both affectionate and loving dogs that get on well together.
Both cats also stay outside, but love a scratch &/or cuddle and get locked away each night in their own home. The younger cat is timid around strangers. Read more...
