Our home is a cosy inner city Victorian terrace cottage in a quiet street and friendly neighbourhood. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 living areas, a rear courtyard and is tastefully furnished. Having undergone a renovation 4 years ago it is both modern and very comfortable. As we are looking for somebody to mind our home and pets in winter it is important to mention the heating - we have hydronic heating throughout the house and air conditioning for an extra boost if needed. We are very close to public transport - the bus and tram are 150 metres away, the train 10 minutes walk and the North Fitzroy village literally just around the corner. There are several restaurants, bars and cafes in the 'hood along with Loafers who do the best bread (but be prepared to queue especially on the weekend). At the end of our street is Edinburgh Gardens a landmark in the area. The gardens are not only beautiful to walk through but also offer a huge off lead area for dogs. We have two animals, an 8 month old French Bulldog and an eight year old cat. While obviously the cat has no interest in the park the dog loves to frequent it to play with his doggy mates daily. We have been working from home since we got our puppy so he is used to company and not being left for long hours alone. The house sitter would need to be largely around during the day and evenings. The bustling Brunswick and Smith Streets Fitzroy are only 10 minutes walk away and the tram to the city takes 20 minutes maximum. So our location is central and would make a great little 'holiday' if you would like an inner-city break while spending time looking after our special animals. Read more...
