Are you interested in a house sit with two shelties?

We have a recently renovated 1962 house 20 mins walk to Henley Square and beach and 20 mins drive/30 mins bus ride to the city. There's a good variety of shopping at the beach and also at West Lakes as well as Harbourtown. We are also only a short drive away from Glenelg beach and Jetty Road and there is good bike riding along the foreshore as well as along the nearby Torrens River.

The house is light and airy and very comfortable and we have a large front and back garden.

If you have a motor home or van we have plenty of parking space as per the attached picture showing our driveway. We'd love it if you were then able to stay a day or 3 before to get to know our boys. Once we leave, we'd really like you to live inside though.

The dogs are quirky - they compete in masters level agility although Rufus will probably retire this year at 12. Doug is 8 and working towards his championship. However, he is a thief and you would need to be diligent with food on the table etc. Rufus is a bit nervy and both can be a bit barky.

They are very much inside dogs with a dog door to let themselves outside. Like most shelties they can't be left outside as they are too noisy and they would be very shocked if you didn't have them inside with you. They even like to climb onto our bed at night and may do the same with you if they feel comfortable enough.

We would really like a couple with a good understanding of dogs and the idiosyncrasies of these dogs who are bred (albeit in the distant past) to herd. They also have long hair which comes with its own challenges. Both dogs can be annoying at times in different ways but both dogs only respond well to kindness and positive reward training and adore their favourite people. We'd like someone who could cope with all this, take them for on lead walks (no offlead, please, as I couldn't trust them to not chase a cat, a jogger, another dog or a bike, if one appeared in their sights).

It would be lovely also, if you could put a bit of water on the garden when needed. We have 4 chickens too - there's not a lot involved with them - just a top up of their feeder and waterer every few days and collect some fresh eggs each day for yourselves. Cutting the lawns would be a real bonus too for us.
