About this house sitting position in Helensburgh

Cute home with a big deck in a rainforest/bush location - walk to the train and local bush walks. A bird lovers dream.

We require someone to stay at our place short term (24 December 2025 to 31 December 2025) and look after our two indoor cats (4 and 5 years old) while we are away for the Christmas break (feeding/water/litter tray/cuddles). Watering some key plants in the garden would also be appreciated too if it gets too hot and doesn’t rain enough.

We are close to a train station on the express line to Sydney (or south of Wollongong) but life here is generally easy with a car.

There’s a natural waterfall/swimming hole at one end of the street, and several bush walking routes at the other end.

The house has two bedrooms (the third bedroom is an office/the cats’ bedroom), and one bathroom. It also has a massive deck that looks over our backyard and into the trees (a state forest) with a creek at the bottom.

The town centre with a supermarket, pharmacy, bottleshop, takeaway etc is a few mins drive away, but you can walk to the train in about 10mins (it is a fairly steep uphill walk but we do it regularly to get to work). You can also drive to the beach in about 10mins.

It is a beautiful place to live and the local birds visit us regularly (cockatoos, king parrots, satin bowerbirds, eastern whipbirds, little wattlebirds, catbirds, brown cuckoo doves and wonga pigeons plus many more). Read more...
