About this house sitting position in Hervey Bay

We have a modern home with a pool, located on half an acre in Urangan, Hervey Bay. We are close to shops, less than 3 km to the beach and Hervey Bay's beautiful Esplanade, cafes and restaurants. The Hervey Bay Boat Club and Urangan Harbour are less than 3.5 km away.

We are looking for a mature, non-smoking person, capable of basic pool and garden maintenance (watering and some occasional weeding only - mowing will be done by a 'professional') and looking after our much loved 17-year old, 3-legged cat, Spooky.

Being senior, Spooky spends most of her time sleeping indoors only waking for short periods to eat and venture outside several times a day. She is a very timid cat and does not require a great deal of attention. She is very affectionate with us but often doesn't take to strangers. However, if you are a 'cat person' and put in the time with her, she would love to be petted (when it suits her!) If she does take a liking to someone she has been known to spend time with them and even sleep with them on their bed at night in colder weather, but this is very rare.

She does not require any special care but she will occasionally use the kitty litter tray instead of going outdoors.

She is free to go in and out of her cat door at any time. However, as she has aged she rarely uses it and prefers a human to let her in and out through the human doors in preference to having to use the cat door!

Garaging will be available for one car.

We would need to meet our chosen house sitter prior to our departure, at the very least on the day before we depart , but earlier if possible. However, we are unable to provide accommodation the night prior to our departure nor after our return.

Please note that we do not have WiFi/internet to the house and we don't subscribe to pay TV or any streaming services. For internet access, we simply hotspot our personal phones to our computer and TVs.
