About this house sitting position in Mungar (near Maryborough Qld)

Due to a health related cancellation by our housesitters, we are seeking new sitters for our house and dog near the rural hamlet of Mungar, 20 kilometres from Maryborough (the nearest shops).

Our home is a private bush setting with a pleasant low maintenance garden suiting people interested in birds and a quiet life.

It is a low set house with insect screened verandahs, 3 bedrooms, a country kitchen, dining room and lounge.

Apart from the house yard, the rest of the block is bush acreage. There are fire breaks around the boundaries that are used as private walking trails. There is a small dam and a creek with water lilies. We have the internet, a garage, tank water (only) and there is plenty of space for a caravan near an external power point if wanted.

We have an old outside dog who craves attention and 30 minute daily walks around the fire breaks. She dislikes young children and other dogs. We also have some plants that need watering.

There is a bitumen road but no public transport, so you will need your own vehicle.

Maryborough has all the facilities for a population of 25,000 residents. It is 3 hours drive north of Brisbane and 3/4 of an hour from Hervey Bay. Fraser Island is a day trip, as are Rainbow Beach, the Blackall Ranges, Sunshine Coast and Bundaberg. The Bunya Mountains are about 3 hours away. There are boat landings on the Mary River.
