ABOUT ME: I’m a vibrant and happy person who loves the company of others, just as much as I love my alone time. I work professionally as a travel consultant for an Australian owned touring company that provides world wide touring experiences for its passengers. I’m very fortunate that my role allows me the opportunity to travel overseas and experience the product for myself from time to time, fulfilling the wanderlust I’ve had my entire life to explore the corners of the earth that make this such a unique, and fascinating place to exist on.
I’m also highly creative, and I’ve been passionate about Art my whole life. I spend a lot of my spare time, painting, drawing and writing, and I’ve been successful in selling out exhibitions of my work when I’ve dedicated the time and energy into sharing this side of myself with the world. I’ve been living on my own for 3 years now and my apartment has become my own little gallery space to inspire me to keep creating.
WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR: A pet sitter for a 3 year old Ragdoll cat, named Wookie, for approx 2 weeks whilst I go overseas for work. The right person must be ok with long fur(it gets everywhere), and tolerant toward loud meowing, because he LOVES to chat! Sometimes, he will keep the conversation going when you want it to stop, but ignore him for long enough and he gets the picture. If you’ve ever had, or minded, a ragdoll before, you’ll know exactly what you’re in for. Ragdolls have big personalities with active temperaments. They are the “dogs” of the cat world and require entertainment to wear them out. This is why Wookie is an outside cat. He will go out early morning, and is trained to come home by late afternoon/evening and spends nights inside.
Ideally, I’d like a mature aged and independent sitter, with prior experience looking after a pet. Wookie is skittish around groups of people he’s not familiar with, so I would prefer if his sitter was agreeable to staying here alone, to help minimise the impact of stress he may feel in my absence.
It is not a requirement to stay here every night, as Wookie can be left inside with adequate food and water left out, if you need a night away. He has been minded before in this manner with no problems. But he may be eager to get outside when you return, so don’t be surprised when he shoots out the door in a flash of grey fur! He’ll be sure to come back after he’s run enough laps of the neighbourhood.
ABOUT MY HOME: I live in a one bedroom apartment on the second floor of a small block with only 10 apartments in total; 5 ground floor and 5 upper. It is a small apartment with a seperate bedroom, lounge space and bathroom all leading off from the kitchen/dining area so it won’t need a lot of upkeep to maintain cleanliness. The apartment block is, for the most part, a very quiet place, and many of the tenants have lived here for quite some time and are extremely respectful of one another. There are two families with young children who play in the courtyard after school, and it’s usually the noisiest it gets around here. It is secure and in a safe area, within close proximity to many handy amenities near by.
I only have one car space, and unfortunately it will be occupied by my car during the time I’m away. The street is a no through road, so there is minimal traffic if you are concerned about hazardous street parking. There is also plenty of space with no signed limits to impact on the length of time you are parked.

— Local Restaurants a plenty! Busy Koornang Road is a foodies dream and all your fast food options are only 5mins drive away
— Local buses if the train is not your thing

— Driving time to city centre is approx 30mins, or 14kms away
— All cat food and necessary items for Wookie will be supplied, and you will not be required to get more
— Enough toilet paper will be supplied for the entire stay

— TV in lounge, Bluray Player, Large amount of DVDs to watch, and 1 terabyte hard drive full of entertainment options
— NO INTERNET CONNECTION, please organise your own portable wi-fi and computer/tablet if it’s not something you can’t do without. These items will not be provided by me for use
— Portable heating in living space and bedroom

— Vacuuming floors will be a requirement of your stay

— Any damage to property or loss of personal items due to negligent, unauthorised behaviour will not be tolerated, and upon my return I will conduct a thorough check on the condition of the apartment, which preferably you will be present for
