About this house sitting position in Oak Valley
Hi, if you like nature, animals & peace/quiet, this is the sit for you!
Animal lover required to care for 1 small dog, 1 cat & 18 chooks. You must also be a non smoker, clean/tidy, responsible & reliable. House/pet sitting references a must, police check preferred.
Seeking sitter/s who can do a short sit for us this year followed by a longer sit in May next year.
*Dates:
1) 1-2 nights October 2016 to March 2017 (flexible with notice, ideally not school holidays, preferably October/asap, weekends, prefer not December-February). Can arrange a week free camping to make your trip worthwhile if you are a self contained traveller.
2) May 1-10/17 (slightly flexible, particularly end date).
3) June or July 2017 (flexible) for 10-14 days possibly considered instead of May -- will await sitter responses/availability.
Quiet scenic semi-rural acreage in Townsville outskirts. Lots of birdlife & wallabies, mountain views, bushwalk nearby. 5 min drive to fuel station, 10/15 minutes to several shopping complexes (grocery store, bank, cafes, post office, doctor, etc.). 30 min to city center, beach.
All common sense, easy duties, feed & water/check everybody twice a day, clean kitty box twice daily, clean chooks areas every 2-3 days, collect eggs daily, water plants few times a week, fill birdbath daily & of course give everyone some love/attention/play regularly each day & clean up after yourself/leave house clean.
The most important thing is that my animals & chooks are well cared for. My little dog may take awhile to warm to you so *you MUST genuinely love animals*. She is a rescue (as most of my girls are), she is not snappy but is timid/aloof with some strangers-some she likes immediately (the best choice for a sitter). She may or may not let you put a lead on her to take her for walks. If not then she can do without walks while we are away. She has a very loving sweet nature & just needs to feel safe.
Preference given to sitter/s willing to stay here most of the time each day for my girls as they are used to having someone home.
We are 2 long-time friends (not a couple) in our 40s and 'good side of' 60 wanting to have a holiday together for the first time in years.
Ample room for a caravan. Hook up available if required.
If you are local to Tvl that would be a bonus.
You would be welcome to as many fresh eggs as you can eat. No bills to pay or gardening to do. 15-30 minutes twice a day for the animals & chooks and the rest of each day is yours to relax!
