We are still looking to establish a short list of experienced house sitters for an extended stay of 100+ days in April - July 2020 looking after our 10 ac lifestyle farm nestled within natural forested surrounds on the Mid North Coast of NSW. Ideally suited to a fit and active couple with a farming or farm animal (goats or sheep) handling background essential. Despite what it shows in this advertisement we have not locked in the exact dates as yet but it will be from mid April to mid July 2020.

When these dates have been confirmed we will look for a firm commitment from our selected sitter to stay for the entire period of the arrangement which will include a few days prior to our departure and likewise on our return.

Apart from approx ¾ - 1 hour checking animal feed, water and welfare morning and evening the rest of your day is spent relaxing or exploring the local area and its many features and attractions. Then on one occasion over the stay our carers will need to draw on their experience and knowledge to be responsible for a series of steps in the management of our small flock of Boer goats. The goats will need to be taken into their yards to have a pedicure and a measured dose of worm treatment down their throats. Normally working as a team we can achieve this in 1 – 1 ½ hours in the cool of the early morning or late afternoon.

We have a 10 ac small farm holding running a small mob of approximately 20 boer goats and a range of poultry. Goats are generally low maintenance, however, some handling experience is essential in the event of any misadventure occurring and to manage their health and wellbeing. These are very much pets and love the attention afforded by occasionally feeding them stale bread along with hay, pellets and their pasture grazing.

Our free range Chooks and other poultry require daily checking of feed and water with the reward of lots of yummy fresh free range eggs. They are fully shedded every night for safety and convenience. Also some small white ducks wandering through the gardens along with some very beautiful Sebastopol geese to keep you entertained. Plenty of farming and gardening activities if you wish, otherwise just sit back and relax.

You have full use of a 3bedroom/3bathroom/extensively renovated house Or a large gravelled area for you to park your rig. Ideally set in a forested area but only 4km from main highway. Easy 10 min or 30 min drives from a number of larger towns ( Nabiac, Taree, Forster and Tuncurry) and the beautiful beaches of the Mid North Coast of NSW. Extensive forest and mountain areas for walking, mountain biking or 4x4 driving start at the front gate. The courtesy bus from the nearest gastropub can even pick you up from Home.

This would ideally suit an active couple with a farming or with animal handling experience who have a real care for and ability with a wide range of animals. Look us up and be in touch for a chat.
