About this house sitting position in Potts Point, Sydney
I am looking for a house sitter to look after my 2 cats for 2 weeks while I’m away in July.
About my place: My studio apartment is small and simple however open planned with a little balcony that looks out to a quiet laneway. There is full cooking facilities, fridge, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine however I do not have a microwave or TV. The building is secure and very well located just steps away from bustling Potts Point. There are many conveniences close by, with the lovely Kings Cross markets on every Saturday for fresh fruit and veg and local produce, plus many restaurants and bars within a short walking distance. The location is close to all amenities, being 10 mins drive to the city and 15 mins to Bondi Beach. Visitor on-site parking is available however I do not have a secure car space.
About my feline babies: I have two rescue cats, a 3 year old and a 2 year old (both girls). They were both rescued during the last 2 lockdowns and will give you lots of love and attention. They have polar opposite personalities which means they both require a specific level of care. Luna is my grey and white bob tailed beauty - she is quite sensitive and shy but very loving once she feels comfortable with her surroundings. She likes to be left alone for most of the time, and is the perfect lady only eating when hungry and never asking for attention. Poppy is my naughty torti with an insatiable hunger and a very needy and tactile personality. Expect to sometimes be woken at 4am feeding hour by cuddles and pawing. Some days she lets me sleep and others I have no choice but to concede!
They are the best of friends and will cuddle, snuggle and play together all day.
About YOU: Ideally I am looking for someone who has experience pet sitting cats and is prepared to look after them like their own. I have had sitters in the past that have neglected them a little, leaving their feeding bowls dirty, unchanged litter boxes or overfeeding Poppy. She will literally eat garbage if you give it to her so I have her on a very strict feeding schedule/diet! As Poppy has a tendency to wake up her human companion throughout the night, this would probably suit a person that doesn’t have to work in the morning as you’ll most likely be woken at 4am for a feed (I do also have automatic feeders for both of them, which means you can set a time for the 4am feed if need be).
As my apartment is small, I am not looking for a couple.
