About this house sitting position in Prospect

Hi there - this is a two-day sit (one night min.) to help with my dog Toohey, who has isolation anxiety & can't be left alone for long. Genuine dog lovers preferred, who will be happy to stay in. If staying on an extra couple of days either side is appealing, you are more than welcome to, however I will be here as I work from home.

I'll be away from Saturday midday/midmorning (exact time uncertain right now) till late Sunday evening (after dinner, again can't confirm till a few days prior). This ideally suits someone who is happy to stay-in just relaxing, cooking, studying, playing with the dog, watching netflix etc. This short sit often suits those currently travelling around Tasmania, maybe camping, who just want a night or two with a real bed and bathroom to recharge, do their washing etc. between adventures.

This is not really suited to those wanting to sight-see during these two days - the purpose of the sit is to keep Toohey company. Toohey is reactive, so if you do take him out on walks or drives, it's really important to avoid other dogs - definitely no dog parks (travels well in his harness).

The fish appreciate a pinch of food in the morning, and my bird will not need anything. I have a medium sized very secure backyard for Toohey but he does tend to spend most time around humans when they are new and exciting to him.

There are security cameras outside of the house, plus one in the kitchen due to break-ins in that location in the past (many years ago). The outside cameras record briefly if triggered (motion + heat activated). The kitchen one doesn't trigger unless something outside prompts a recording. They record in 30 second bursts of video, no audio.

There is an IGA supermarket and shopping strip within a few minutes walk. You will have your own room (Queen bed), and the house to yourself. NBN internet/wifi is included, heat pump and gas heating (winter), large tv with a chromecast in the lounge, and a playstation can easily be plugged in with the cable ready to go. There is also a TV & choromecast in your bedroom but no regular tv reception in there. The bathroom has a walk in shower, there are no stairs anywhere but there is a ramp out to the back yard. There is a second toilet. You are free to use my laundry supplies, tumble drier etc. And of course spices in the kitchen, condiments, tea (LOTS OF).

Toohey will settle overnight more easily if he receives a walk right before bed - but its ok to not walk him at all if you are not confident with a 25kg very strong, occasionally reactive dog.

Most experienced dog owners find he's actually very easy to manage, and walks very well, and he makes an excellent couch cuddle buddy.
