About this house sitting position in South Yarra
Hello, we're Hannah and Mikey, we live in beautiful South Yarra Melbourne. We love walking by the river, going to some of the neighbouring cafes, bars, and comedy nights, and heading out on hiking adventures.
We live with our lovely cat Bunty in a one-bedroom apartment with fantastic views of South Yarra city.
LOCATION
Our place is 5 minutes walk from the beautiful Birrarung (Yarra River), 10 minutes walk to the South Yarra boutiques, shops, supermarkets and restaurants, and about 30 minutes walk to the Botanic Gardens. We have lovely Rockley Gardens and the tram at the end of our street, and the South Yarra train station is 12 minutes' walk away.
OUR PLACE
An older-style apartment with a new hot water system (great shower pressure!) our place has one large bedroom with city views, original kitchen with gas stove and oven, and an easy-to-operate washing machine. Lovely morning sun on the balcony and afternoon sun into the bedroom. Parking available for your car in the undercover carport.
We have air-conditioning in the living room for the really hot days, and use a fan at night in the bedroom in summer. Neighbours are lovely, and it's a quiet block with a lovely green leafy courtyard.
Our apartment is on the second floor and we do not have a lift, so house-sitters will need to be comfortable with stairs.
OUR PET
Bunty is a 2-year-old Tortoiseshell cat. She is an only cat and likes it that way - she likes adult people but is terrified of small children and other pets. She sleeps at night and reserves her playtime for first thing in the morning on the balcony (we have a timed cat flap) and chasing bugs throughout the day. She is lovely to spend one's day with.
Responsibilities
Keeping Bunty's dry food and water topped up, and giving her a bit of wet food before bedtime each night. Cleaning Bunty's litter as needed (at least twice a day). Brushing Bunty with the pet gloves on the balcony once a day, and playing with her with the laser pointer/guitar string/pet mouse before her wet food at bedtime.
Ensuring Bunty doesn't scratch the sofa (she's generally pretty good, sometimes she feels a little naughty, we just tell her off loudly and move her away to her scratching post).
Watering indoor plants once every 3 days, and watering outdoor plants once a day.
