About this house sitting position in Springfield Lakes
We have two Main Coon cats, both will be aged 8 in 2025. We have two large outdoor fully netted cat runs so there will be no cat litter to clean as the cats, sun, rain and nature takes care of 'business'. Our home is a large roomy four bedroom home with ensuite and main bathroom. You can use the guest bedroom or ours, as you prefer, we aren't fussed. As we have no children at home one of the four bedrooms is an office/music room and the other an art/activities room. The home is well laid out in a large open plan style leading out onto a quite lovely outdoor undercover area complete with hot bubble spa overlooking bushland. There will be no garden maintenance as we have no lawn and the garden beds we do have won't need anything done whilst we are gone. Parking is in a locked garage which opens directly into the kitchen for easy unloading of groceries. We have way too much TV streaming, plus nowhere near enough books in our overstuffed 5m long bookcase (and scattered elsewhere in the house!), plus many jigsaw puzzles to keep you from being bored. Our home is adjacent to a bush reserve which links into an extensive range of walking paths in the local area. A shopping centre with the usual Coles, Woolies, Target and Big W is five minutes by car. The centre is also adjacent to a beautiful swimming lagoon and park and has many cafes and restaurants, especially in the piazza. Regarding the cats: The boy (Odin) is super chill, affectionate and playful. The girl (Freya) is the opposite: anxious, introverted and standoffish (at first, anyway). Freya was ill a few years ago and lost a kidney so is on special kidney care food, both have their own electronic feeders so they can't get at each others' food. They eat twice a day and it usually takes my husband five minutes each time to dish it out. The rest is cleaning their bowls and replenishing their water. Although we generally feed them at the same time morning and afternoon, with perhaps refilling the kibble during the day if it's empty, they can manage if you are out and get home later or in the evening from time to time. We had them in a cat boarding place over Christmas 2024 and, whilst the ladies there were wonderful, as was the cats' large, clean and roomy accommodation, it was clear that they both struggled with being away from home, especially poor Freya. Whilst we personally would be happy for our sitters to bring a small dog as we only relatively recently lost our own two dogs, Freya would lose her little mind having a strange dog in the house, so we can't have sitters with pets.
