About this house sitting position in Tannum Sands
Are you ready for a beachside break in balmy conditions? For the active, there are beach tracks or nature tracks or you may prefer the challenge of a mountain climb such as Mt Larcom just 50 kms away. The current weather conditions and maximum temps of around 20゚ each day are making the outdoor life really attractive.
If fishing is more your style you can access the Harbour which is visible from your verandah or you can drive 20 minutes to Lake Awonga or Pikes Crossing nearby.
If markets are more your thing there's Beach, Arts, Music on the 1st weekend you would be here and also there's markets at nearby Calliope Historical Village and in Gladstone. For the artists, make sure you venture out to Cedar Galleries and don't miss the local Ocean Breeze gallery at your doorstep. If you prefer to just relax, with the harbour views from the front verandah of one of Tamnum's original beach houses. Every day feels like a holiday in this active but friendly community. The house is within walking distance local shopping centre, restaurants and cafes. (And the Vet!)
There are 2 nearby golf courses, local services offering island day trips and nearby Gladstone is a very interesting Industrial town. Be sure to go to Auckland Hill lookout and take in views of the Port of Gladstone and the Marina , the power station, Queensland Alumina, Boyne Smelters and Curtis Island gas plant -.all visible from the one point. Then head to the Marina to choose your favourite yacht or picnic at the parklands near the Harbour while planning a day trip on the ferry to the nearby islands.
At home it is an easy life: the garden area has an automatic watering system. The small lawn area would require a mow each fortnight and a watering every 3 or 4 days. The pool is covered amd would not require any attention unless you plan to use it.
I have an older, low-maintenance dog - Jess aged 10. She loves being a house dog, so she is welcome to join the humans inside - a privilege she respects by behaving with decorum. Her favourite activities are sunning herself in the back yard and enjoying an occasional walk with a paddle thrown in if you get to the beach.
There is off-street, driveway parking. I have a throwover car cover if you need it.
There is WiFi. The bedrooms are air-conditioned and a heater is available if you feel cool.
I work as Admin in Aged Care and am keen to take a break to go for a visit up north to see my daughter. I can shorten this trip by about a week if the dates suits you better. I'm keen for Jess to have kind company as she is a homebody.
If you're in the mood for an easy coastal break, with a dog thrown in, this is the place for you. Read more...
