About this house sitting position in Tinbeerwah

Dear House-sitters,

My partner Russ and I have a traditional 4BR/3Bath traditional Queenslander in Noosa Hinterlands. We are headed to Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Mexico, USA and Canada for seven weeks this Spring and need someone to mind our house and animals. We'd prefer to have professionals do it, rather than to rely on friends.

We are on three mountainous acres at the end of a long drive in Tewantin National Park, overlooking the wilderness, Sunshine Coast and Mt Coolum, but only 7 minutes from Woolies and Bunnings and 20 minutes from gorgeous Noosa main beach. The eco-friendly property has new 6kw of solar panels, ample rainwater for drinking, a 15m solar heated pool, a 40m lawn bowling green on our hillside, the beginnings of a tea plantation on the rest of the hillside, a meditation pavilion and water features, a 15 sq m aviary for our hens, and plenty of other wildlife like roos, birds and snakes.

We have two cats, aged 4 and 10, who roam during the day but aren't allowed out at night, eight chickens, who are only allowed to roam in the arvo, but who all lay eggs every morning, and two bee hives.

We have a highly rated bnb unit on our ground floor. We would like to find sitters who can attend to our guests on top of the house-sitting duty, for a fee. This would involve greeting the guests, providing them keys, then afterward turning around the room: cleaning, changing linen, fresh towels, providing milk, fresh eggs from our eight chickens, bread, etc. It's pretty simple, and takes maybe one or two hours of work per booking, usually at 10am when the guests check out. So we would need someone who could be available at that time to swap the room over.

Duties on the property will be a daily routine with the chickens: feeding them in the morning, collecting their eggs in the afternoon, then letting them roam and putting them back in the aviary at night; feeding the cats in the morning and at night; locking the cats inside at night after dinner, giving the cats a grooming, giving them their tick and flea meds every two weeks; cleaning leaves from the pool every day or two although we have a monthly pool service otherwise; mowing the lawn with our easy electric mower every second week as we get near summer.

We have a free RACQ tradee service for any emergencies, and they can also handle anything else, too, that is more than the initial call out.

Since our bedrooms are directly above the guest unit, we need to be quiet there at night, so we prefer sitters without babies or small children or barking dogs. We are not keen to have other pets here with our animals.

We look forward to your interest in looking after our relaxing, scenic homestead.

Robert and Russ

ps We had selected a housesitter three weeks ago. She informed us today26/8 that she would not be able to look after our house because of personal issues. We are opening our ad again for a week and hope to find a few good candidates again and make a decision by 1 September, so please contact us if you are interested.
