About this house sitting position in Werribee
We are looking for a house sitter to look after our 5 year old Flat coated retriever and our very social cat.
Murphy, the dog, loves to be around people, needs to say hi to every person and dog we meet on our walks and is slightly obsessively social. He knows quite a few tricks and is mostly good off leash, especially with a ball to keep him focussed. He weighs 35 kg, but is easy to walk on leash with his harness (even with a pram).
Callie, the cat, is an easy pet, who loves to hang out with people once Murphy has settled down a bit.
We also have a fairly big, fully fenced in yard with several fruit trees. if you're lucky, the apricots might be ripe during your stay. Otherwise, the garden is mostly grass, so doesn't require much maintenance.
Our house is within walking distance from the town centre and Werribee river, about a 10-minute drive from the off-leash dog park, about 20 minutes from Altona dog beach and about an hour from the surf coast. There are some really lovely dog beaches down there that we love to go to on the weekends. It's also walking distance to the train station and about a 40 minute train trip/ drive to Melbourne CBD.
If you live around Melbourne, you are more than welcome to come and meet the animals/ check out our place beforehand.
If you need to, you can use one of our cars during your stay or, alternatively, the driveway is empty, since our cars are both in the garage, so you could park your car or a medium sized caravan in the driveway. I can measure the length for you, if required.
Murphy loves other dogs, so it would be possible to bring your own dog, as long as it is comfortable with a giant puppy and a cat.
